Brain fog & medication

Lately, I have been on the struggle bus with this brain fog! Specifically, when it comes to taking my medicine and supplements. I find myself wondering if I actually took my medicine or just thought about it. This turns into a whole conversation in my head and most of the time I can't remember so I just don't take them out of fear of overdosing.

There is no excuse for me struggling with remembering medicine and supplements in this day and age, but I still am.

I am one of those people who gives out recommendations, but it's hard to apply to my own life... let me explain.......

First, it goes without saying that chronic illness patients take boatloads of meds and supplements (usually) and multiple times per day, it can be difficult to keep track of.

I have tried reminders or alarms in my phone, and they work great if you have your phone glued to your hip. But, not only that, but it also seems they go off at the most inopportune times, like when you're trying to catch up on sleep or just laying down because you don't feel good... then I get annoyed because we all know how hard it is to come by sleep most nights. So, in turn I shut the alarms and reminders off, and I am right back to trying to remember if I took my meds or not.

The pill boxes are great, and I have them and I use them but what inevitably happens for me is I forget something one day and then don't adjust the pill box and then get behind on my days and it becomes a mess from there .... I know it sounds like it should be easy, but I promise it's complicated.

Most days I just resort to good old fashion memory which is laughable for me at this point.... so what I have done is printed this Medication tracker from singlecare.com and put it in my closet next to my pills! It is simple and has been a huge help! No more wondering if I took my pills or just thought about taking them!

I know there are apps these days that help with this also, but they just become one more thing for me to keep track of with an already overtaxed and struggling brain and body. I have found that for me having the paper right there and physically marking things off as I take them vs. trying to remember what app tracks my meds, what alarm is for what has been far easier for my brain! I hope it helps!

Additionally, singlecare.com offers a SIDE EFFECT tracker if you are wanting to track side effects.
